The Events and Banquet Sales Manager (Task Force) is a dynamic leader who drives event sales, oversees banquet operations, and ensures outstanding guest experiences for hotels and resorts during peak periods or transitions. This role expertly manages both client relationships and event execution-perfect for hospitality professionals who excel in fast-paced environments and love creating memorable events.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and 3-5+ years in catering sales, event management, banquet operations, or hospitality leadership-preferably in branded hotels (Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG) or luxury/lifestyle properties.
  • Proven success in driving event sales, securing business, and leading food & beverage operations, especially in full-service or resort environments.
  • Strong expertise in banquet service standards, menu planning, and event logistics.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills; adept at managing multiple events in fast-paced, high-volume settings.
  • Proficiency with hospitality sales and event software (such as Delphi, CI/TY, Opera, Amadeus).
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel and adapt to diverse brand standards, operational styles, and property needs.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sales & Event Coordination : Serving as the main contact for catering and event inquiries, guiding clients through site tours, meetings, tastings, and event consultations. You'll prepare tailored proposals and contracts, upsell enhancements, and foster strong relationships with planners and clients, ensuring clear communication of event details across all departments while managing the booking process in CRM or sales systems.
Operational Leadership : Oversee all aspects of banquet operations by leading teams, coordinating with culinary staff, and ensuring events run smoothly from setup to breakdown. Maintain inventory, uphold brand and safety standards, and take charge as the on-site leader to resolve any issues quickly, ensuring seamless service and guest satisfaction.
Guest Experience & Quality Assurance : Deliver exceptional service and hospitality throughout every event by proactively engaging with hosts and planners before, during, and after to ensure their satisfaction. Address guest concerns swiftly and professionally, and collaborate with leadership to review feedback and drive continuous improvements for a memorable guest experience.
Administrative & Financial Responsibilities : Oversee banquet billing to ensure accuracy and quick processing of all checks and invoices. Play a hands-on role in forecasting, tracking revenue, and maximizing event profitability, while keeping costs in check. Help onboard and train catering and banquet staff, driving team growth and strong financial results.
Task Force Flexibility : Adapt quickly to various hotel brands and roles, such as Catering Sales Manager, Banquet Manager, or Event Manager, providing immediate leadership, smooth transitions, and supporting lasting team improvements.
