Job Description
We are seeking two dedicated School Nurses (RN or LPN) for full-time 1:1 roles in a dynamic school district in North Kansas City, Missouri. These positions will begin ASAP and run through the end of the school year (May 22), with continued opportunities for the Extended School Year (ESY) program in June.
This role involves floating throughout the district and supporting various school sites, serving students from PreK through 12th grade. Nurses will operate as general health room providers and may also support field trips or multiple sites in a single day.
Key Details:
Start Date: ASAP – May 22 (CSY), with ESY June 1–25 (Monday–Thursday)
Hours (Now–May 22): 35–40 hours/week
Hours (ESY): 22–25 hours/week
Schedule Range: Between 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM depending on school site
Weekly schedules provided on Sundays (subject to change based on needs)
Initial 2-week training/shadowing period, followed by independent health room coverage
This is a fast-paced and flexible role ideal for nurses who are comfortable adapting to changing schedules and environments.
Requirements
Active RN or LPN license in Missouri (or ability to obtain)
Previous pediatric, school, or clinical nursing experience preferred
Comfortable working independently and managing a school health room
Ability to float between multiple sites and adapt to changing schedules
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient with technology and electronic charting systems
Willingness to work with a diverse PreK–12 student population
