Job Description

The Surrogate Community Advocate

The Surrogate Community Advocate is an independent contractor role designed for women who have completed at least one gestational surrogacy journey and want to use that experience to educate and support others considering surrogacy. Reporting to the Family Inceptions team, the Advocate manages community engagement, conducts outreach to prospective gestational surrogates, and guides qualified candidates through the application process. This is a flexible, hybrid role combining education, digital community management, and relationship-based recruiting.

What You'll Do
  • Manage and moderate the surrogate community page, including responding to inquiries and fostering engagement.
  • Participate in surrogate-related conversations across social media platforms and online communities on behalf of Family Inceptions.
  • Educate prospective gestational surrogates about the surrogacy process, eligibility requirements, expectations, and compensation using lived experience and approved program materials.
  • Conduct one-on-one outreach conversations with women exploring surrogacy, using a consultative and relationship-based approach.
  • Guide qualified candidates toward completing the surrogate application, and follow up with warm leads and referrals to support application completion.
  • Document all outreach activity, conversations, and outcomes in designated Company systems.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to ensure alignment on messaging, candidate handoffs, and program updates.
  • Participate in occasional local or regional events as mutually agreed upon.
What We're Looking For
  • Completed at least one gestational surrogacy journey (required).
  • Prior experience in recruiting, enrollment, intake, sales, community management, or relationship-based outreach (preferred).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable educating others and having candid, respectful conversations about surrogacy.
  • Proficient with digital platforms and internal systems; able to learn new tools as part of daily work.
  • Ability to work independently, manage outreach activities, and meet agreed-upon deliverables.
  • Strong follow-up and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical recruiting practices.
  • Comfortable being on camera for video content and virtual engagement.
Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. Compensation includes a fixed monthly retainer plus a per-placement commission for each surrogate successfully matched through the Advocate's recruiting efforts. Full compensation details are provided during the contracting process. Payment is issued on the company's biweekly payroll schedule. Commission is paid based on surrogate milestones. As an independent contractor, you are responsible for all applicable taxes, insurance, and benefits. Full compensation details are outlined in the independent contractor agreement.

Schedule & Classification
  • This is a 1099 independent contractor role, not a W-2 employee position.
  • Contractors set their own schedule within agreed-upon deliverables and availability expectations.
  • No employee benefits are provided.
  • Scope, expectations, and compensation are governed by a written independent contractor agreement.
