Clinical Medical Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments with professionalism and care.
  • Obtain and record patient histories, vital signs, and other relevant clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as preparing patients for exams, helping with testing procedures, and sterilizing equipment.
  • Administer medications and injections under provider supervision, following established protocols.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment adhering to safety and infection control standards.
  • Educate patients on post-visit care instructions and answer basic questions about procedures.
  • Support administrative tasks including scheduling, document handling, and entering data into EMR systems.
  • Float between clinics as needed within scope of practice to meet patient care and operational needs.
  • Ensure timely documentation and accurate scribing during visits, utilizing computer skills and EMR proficiency.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 6 months of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant, preferably in outpatient, pediatric, or ENT settings.
  • Prior experience with ENT procedures and patient management is REQUIRED.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with EMR systems and medical documentation.
  • Exceptional patient communication skills and a compassionate approach.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with the healthcare team and adapt to float within multiple clinical settings.
  • Reliable transportation for daily travel between clinics; personal vehicle required.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment with a professional appearance and attitude.

Nice to Have Skills:

  • Experience with EPIC or other electronic health record platforms.
  • Previous work in general outpatient clinics or private practice environments.
  • Knowledge of medical billing or administrative support functions.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus, but not mandatory.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) preferred; equivalent recent clinical experience accepted.
  • At least 6 months of hands-on clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
  • ENT experience strongly preferred, especially if working with adult or pediatric patients.

Other Requirements:

  • This is a TEMP TO HIRE opportunity contingent on performance and fit.
  • Schedule: Four 9.5-hour days (Monday-Friday), with Tuesdays off; typical hours from 7:45 AM to 5:30 PM.
  • Must have reliable transportation to float among multiple clinics within the assigned geographic area.
  • No on-call responsibilities required; scheduled shifts only.
  • Vaccination, physical, and background checks must be completed within 72 hours of offer acceptance.
  • Flexibility to work within clinic schedules and adhere to facility protocols.
  • This position is open to local candidates within a 50-mile radius; no travel or out-of-area applicants accepted.
  • Certification in BLS is required; additional licenses or certifications are a plus.
