Job Description:

Duties will include, but not be limited to, maintaining accurate inventory records, tracking company-owned equipment, and supporting field operations through efficient material coordination. The Inventory Clerk will be responsible for managing inventory across yards and well sites, ensuring materials are properly accounted for, and supporting operational needs through timely and accurate data management.

This role requires close coordination with Drilling, Workover, and Production teams, as well as Accounting and Regulatory groups. The successful candidate will ensure inventory accuracy, facilitate equipment movement, and support operational planning through forecasting and reporting.

While the Inventory Clerk works mostly in the office performing administrative and system-based tasks in support of district operations, this is a field-focused role that requires periodic visits to the field locations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Utilize inventory management software to maintain, track, and reconcile inventory including tubulars, rods, and surface equipment.
  • Perform routine physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy and maintain up-to-date records.
  • Communicate with drilling and workover rig supervisors and consultants to ensure accurate reporting of inventory usage and movement.
  • Process inventory transactions within the company's accounting system for movement, transfer, and disposition of assets.
  • Forecast requirements for pipe, tubulars, and surface equipment in coordination with operations personnel.
  • Coordinate delivery, transfer, and sale of company-owned equipment between locations or third parties.
  • Manage and track sales of unusable or excess equipment including scrap metal, pipe, rods, and other materials.
  • Ensure compliance with TENORM regulations as they apply to oilfield equipment handling and disposal.
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Manage and maintain the district's vehicle fleet, including tracking, usage, documentation, purchasing and selling
  • Facilitate and support inventory audits conducted by internal and external accounting teams.
  • Assist with administrative and operational support processes as directed by the District Manager, including:
    • Freshwater usage requests
    • Electrical power service requests
  • Maintain organized records and documentation for compliance, reporting, and operational transparency.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory tracking, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple inventory locations and priorities
  • Effective communication with both field personnel and office staff
  • Basic understanding of oilfield equipment and operations (preferred)
  • Problem-solving and accountability in inventory discrepancies
Technical Tools & Systems:

Experience with the following is preferred:
  • Inventory management software systems
  • Company accounting systems (inventory and asset tracking)
  • Microsoft Excel (data tracking and reporting)
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or technical degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in inventory management, logistics, or oilfield operations preferred.
  • Experience handling oilfield materials such as tubulars, rods, or surface equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (including TENORM) preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between yards, field locations, and offices as needed.
